WHO IS QUINTERAX

EVERYTHING I TRY TO DO AND WHY.

Born and raised in Oxfordshire, I have been surrounded by and inspired by the rich architectural history of England from an early age.

This environment has fuelled my enduring desire to understand the intricate nature of human intent, belief, and communication. I have always been captivated by how these elements are expressed in the structures we build and the stories we tell.

My fascination has led me to explore not only the built environment but also the natural world, both of which serve as reflections of our collective and individual quests for meaning.

This exploration has deepened my appreciation for the narratives we create as we seek to make sense of the world and our place within it.

Human Intervention.

Illustration has become my primary means of conveying these discoveries and reflections.

Through my art, I aim to present complex ideas in a form that invites interpretation and resists definitive meaning. This open-ended approach allows viewers to engage with my work in a personal way, encouraging them to find their own perspectives and insights.

I believe that art should serve as a conversation between the creator and the audience, offering a space where new meanings and interpretations can emerge.

My work is heavily influenced by a range of sources, including historical figures, religion, mythology, and folklore.

These elements are woven together with motifs from nature to create characters that embody adaptation and resilience.

These characters are designed to reflect the essence of survival and transformation, highlighting how all living beings, including humans, have had to adapt over the course of more than 4 billion years.

The continuous dance between growth and change, influenced by both internal and external forces, is a central theme in my art.

By showcasing this interplay, I aim to remind viewers of the shared journey of existence and the enduring spirit that has defined life throughout history.

In essence, my illustrations are not just depictions but invitations—an opportunity for viewers to step into a world where the past and present intertwine, where myth and reality coexist, and where the struggle for meaning is both timeless and universal. Through this, I hope to create art that resonates with others and sparks moments of reflection, curiosity, and connection.
